We Like Celebrities...Because They're Nice!
64We all love celebrities, we like to gossip about their love lives, speculate about who hates who and dish the dirt about what they've been getting up to. But what we all seem to forget when we chat over our lunch breaks about Kim Kardashian's not so surprising divorce or LiLo's latest dalliance with criminality, is that these celebrities are human beings too and, it may come as a shock to some, that some of them are actually quite nice!
And that's why we here at GossipFever like celebrities, that and getting our fill of who wore what and who dated who, but that's not all celebrities are about, so we've decided to explore the nicer side of our fave celebs.
Keanu Reeves: Becomes the AA man
There are no surprises really to see Keanu Reeves on a list of nice celebrities, the guy who played Ted can't really be anything other than nice can he?
But we were surprised to hear just how far Keanu is willing to go to be nice to people. As well as buying lots of nice things for the various people who have been lucky enough to work on the many films he's been in. Reeves once helped a woman whose car had broken down on a Highway. When he was unable to start her car up himself he arranged for her car to be towed and then drove her 50 miles home. The lucky woman even got his phone number in case she need any more help!
Johnny Depp: Visits Schools
It's not hard to find reasons to like Johnny Depp. Firstly he is pretty, secondly he's Captain Jack Sparrow and third, did we mention he's pretty? Well on top of this, Johnny Depp is just plain nice! Not only has he read stories to kids in hospital he also donated £1 million to Great Ormond Street to thank them for saving his daughters life.
But our favourite "how nice is Johnny Depp" moment is his recent visit to a London school. While filming the fourth Pirates of The Caribbean movie in Greenwich he received a letter to Captain Jack Sparrow from budding young pirate 9 year old Beatrice Delap, asking for help to stage a mutiny against the teachers. So, Depp in full Jack Sparrow regalia made a surprise visit to meet Beatrice and give her a hug...Awww!
Britney Spears: Gives to The Poor
Now Britney Spears has had her fair share of ups and downs, we have all read about her divorces, break downs and parental disputes. But despite all this she still shows us that underneath all the hype she's till just a nice girl.
One example of this was when she gave $300 to a homeless man on the street while she was waiting at some traffic lights. The pop princess handed him the money wished him good luck and a happy new year and went on her way.
Bless her cotton socks!
Anne Hathaway: Feeds Fans
We already know that Anne Hathaway is nice; you can't be in Disney Movies if you're not nice. But Anne always goes the extra mile to be lovely to her fans.
She once hand delivered pizza at 3 am in the morning to fans waiting in line to buy tickets for her play. This was the morning before her final performance in Twelfth Night.
Now that is dedication to niceness, giving up your beauty sleep like that!
Charlie Simpson: Says Happy Birthday
I don't know about you but I think the first sign of niceness in a celebrity is how they treat their fans. Well a host of famous bands and artists have gone that extra mile to give their fans a special day. Bands like Ash, Bowling for Soup, Imogen Heap and many more have teamed up with Skype to bring us the Say it With Skype facebook app, a unique way to say Happy Birthday to your friends and family. If your friend is a big fan of Charlie Simpson, now you can send them a Happy Birthday message from the man himself.
You can even personalise your message by singing along and recording with your webcam, or if singing isn't your thing just follow your message with an iPhone or Android video call.
Robert Pattinson: Gives Music
Robert Pattinson may come off as dark and moody in his movies, it's probably hard not too when you're most famous role is that of a vampire, but behind that scary exterior we all know is hiding a nice guy.
Earlier this year he showed us all just how lovely he is when he bought a brand new acoustic guitar for a homeless busker. After giving the man some money Pattinson returned a short while later and handed the man a new guitar, he then quickly headed to his car and drove away.
Aww...look at that face, isn't he sweet!
Beyoncé: Gives Her Mic
Beyoncé may seem like a bit of a Diva and chances are she probably is. But this Diva was worried about being upstaged when she handed her mic to a fan at her concert so he propose to his girlfriend.
The man reportedly took the mic and said “Beyoncé, you told me if I like it, I need to put a ring on it,” then got down on one knee to pop the question. Obviously she said yes, how could you say no after that proposal?
Allan Carr: Sells Stockings
Another group of celebs show us just how nice they can be by auctioning off their stockings! That's Christmas stockings of course.
The Charity fundraising event is a star studded night that sees celebs auctioning off their dream stockings to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event will be taking place on December 7th and stockings will be provide from celebs such as Denise Van Outen, Allan Carr, Arlene Phillips, Sarah Harding and many more. It looks like Christmas brings out the good in everyone, even the rich and famous.
So there you have it folks, our tribute to a few of the lovely celebrities out there doing good for the world. And just another reason why we love them so much, they make donations, they help the homeless, they feed the hungry and are generally just plain nice. What more could you ask for, well it does help that they're so pretty too.
